By2003,around100bandsweretakingpartinACLMusicFestivalandin2004,theeventgrewtoovereightstagesandextended(延续)tothreedays.Thetopattendanceattheeventwas75,000people.ThefestivalevenwonthePollstar’sFestivaloftheYearAwardin2005.Thatyearbecameknownasthe“DustBowl〞yearasthefestivalcrowdkickedupsomuchdustthatitwasdifficultforfestivalgoerstobreathe.Theorganizerssettledthisproblembyusingwateringdevicesonthesite.
Withtheexceptionofheavyrainin2009,thefestivalcontinuedoverthenextfewyearswithoutanymajordramas.In2013,theorganizersdecidedtoextendtheeventovertwoweekends.Anotherimportantfactaboutthatyearwasthattheeventwascanceled〔取消〕onthethirddayofthesecondweekendduetoheavyraincausingfloods.Besides,thefestivalwascalledoffduetotheoutbreakofCOVID-19in2020.
