Pro/EngineeroperatingsoftwareisParametricTechnologyCorporation(PTC)foritsthree-dimensionalCAD/CAM/CAEintegrationsoftware.ThePro/Engineersoftwareforparameterizationparametertechnologytheearliestapplicationbythecurrentthree-dimensionalmodelingsoftware,possessionwithanimportantpositionofPro/Engineerasanewstandardfortoday'sworldmachineryofCAD/ofCAE/theCAMfield'sandgettheindustryrecognitionandpromotion.IsnowoneofthemainstreamCAD/CAM/CAEsoftware,inparticular,occupyanimportantpositioninthedomesticfieldofproductdesign.
Pro/Efirstproposedtheconceptofparametricdesign,andusesasingledatabasetosolvetheproblemcharacteristics.Inaddition,itusesamodularapproach,userscanchooseaccordingtotheirneeds,withouthavingtoinstallallthemodules.Pro/Ebasedonfeature,theabilitytodesigntoproductiontothewholeprocessofintegration,concurrentengineeringdesign.Itcannotonlyappliedtoworkstations,butcanalsobeappliedtoasinglemachine.
Pro/Eusesamodule,cansketch,partsproduction,assemblydesign,sheetmetaldesign,processing,andensurethattheusercanchoosetouseaccordingtotheirneeds.
1.Aparameterofthedesign
Relativetotheproducts,wecanseeitasthegeometricmodel,nomatterhowcomplexthegeometrymodelcanbedecomposedintothecompositionofthelimitednumberofcharacteristics,ofeachcharacteristiccanbefullyconstrainedwithlimitedparameters,whichparametersofthebasicconcept.
2.Feature-basedmodeling
Pro/Eisafeature-basedsolidmodelingsystem,theengineeringstaffwithintelligentfeaturesofthemodelgeneratedbasedonthecharacteristicfunctionofcavity,shell,chamferedandroundedcorners,youcanfreelysketching,andeasilychangethemodel.Thisfeaturesprovideengineeringdesignersneverhadthedesignsimpleandflexible.
3.Asingledatabase(allrelated)
Pro/Engineeristoestablishthedatabaseontheunifiedgrass-roots,unlikesomeofthetraditionalCAD/CAMsystemisbuiltonmultipledatabases.Theso-calledsingledatabase,projectinformationfromalibraryinaproductmodelingworkmakeseachindividualuser,whetherheiswhatadepartment.Inotherwords,changesoccurinanyoneofthedesignprocessasawhole,andalsobeforeandafterthereactionontherelevantlinkintheentiredesignprocess.Forexample,oncetheengineeringdetailchange,NC(NC)toolpathisautomaticallyupdated;assemblydrawingsanychanges,exactlythesamereactioninthethree-dimensionalmodel.Thisuniquedatastructureandengineeringdesigncompletecombinationofaproductdesignedtocombine.Thisadvantage,makingthedesignmoreoptimized,higherqualityfinishedproducttobettermarket,thepriceischeaper.
2.Modelingofthebearing
Bearingmodeling,includingmodelingofthecage,themodelingofthebearinginnerring,thebearingouterringofthemodelingandthemodelingofballbearings.
