ThereadingpassagetitledFESTIVALSbrieflydescribesthreetraditionalfestivalsofChina.Suchatopiciscloselyrelatedtostudents’life,thusitisveryeasytoarousetheirinterestinlearningthislesson.Thetextcovers3sections.Teachershouldencouragestudentstoskimforthegeneralideaforeachsection,andscanforfurtherunderstanding,becausethislessonintroducesalotofusefulnewwordsandexpressionswhichareonlyusedforfestivals.Inordernottoletstudentsfeelmuchdifficult,theteachershoulddealwithanylanguageproblemswhiletheyarereading.Afterreading,studentsarerequiredtodotheexercisesintheeachsteptoseehowmuchtheyhaveunderstoodthereadingpassage.Theteachercanletthemworkinpairsoringroupstofindtheanswerscooperatively,andthenchecktheiranswerswiththewholeclass.
