主语、宾语、表语。
作主语时谓语动词通常用单数。

need用作情态动词,通常用于否定句和疑问句。
一、need表示“需要”或“必须”。
例如:
1.Youneedn'tdoitagain.你不需要再做了。
2.Heneedn'tworryaboutit.这件事他无需担心。

他需要先做这些作业吗?
4.Needtheyfillintheform?
他们需要填表吗?
二、在否定句中,可以用“needn`t+have+pp.”,表示“本不必做某事但做了”。
如:
1.Weneedn'thaveworried.其实我们不必要慌。
2.Youneedn'thavementionedit.你本来不必提起这件事。
3.Youneedn'thavesaidthatwhenheasked.当他问的时候,你其实不必要说。
三、needn't后的不定式间或也能用进行式或被动语态。
例如:
1.Heneedn'tbestandingintherain.他不必要站在雨中。
2.Weneedn'tbewaitinginthisplace.我们不必要在这儿等。
3.Thehedges[[hedʒ]n.树篱;障碍]needn'tbetrimmed[vt.修剪;整理]thisweek.本周树蓠不必要整修。
need作为实义动词常用于肯定陈述句中,通常用法是
人+need+todo
物+need+doing
物+need+tobedone
当然,“need”后还可以直接跟名词。
请看下面的例子:
1.Weneedtocollecttheparcel[['pɑːs(ə)l]n.包裹,小包]beforeweleaveforEngland.
去英国之前,我们需要收拾好行李。
2.Weneedtotellhimthetruth.我们需要告诉他真相。
3.Mycarneedsrepairing.我的汽车需要修理。
4.Theflowersneedwatering.这些花需要浇水。
5.Hisleathershoesneedstobemended.他的皮鞋需要修补。
6.Herroomneedscleaning.她的房间需要打扫。
7.Doesheneedtogososoon?
他这么快就要走吗?
8.Hedoesn'tneedtogo.他不需要走。
needn'tdo中,need是情态动词:
needdo(情态动词+动词原形)。
don'tneedtodo中,need是行为动词,needtodo——>(否)don'tneedtodo。
判断"need"是情态动词还是行为动词,就看后面是doortodo
