In December 1931, Churchill was in New York.While crossing thestreet,hewashitbyacar.Asitturnedout,Churchillhadinstinctivelylookedtotherightwhenhewantedtocross.However,sincecarsdriveonoppositesidesoftheroadinAmericaandBritain,heshouldactuallyhavelookedleft.Instead,hesteppedserenelyintothepathofanoncomingcar.
