Ⅱ.语法讲解----宾语从句
(一)宾语从句的种类
宾语从句是一种名词性从句,在句中作及物动词的宾语,或介词的宾语,或形容词的宾语。
根据引导词的不同,宾语从句可分为三类。
1.由that引导的宾语从句。
That只有语法作用,没有实在的意义,在口语和非正式文体中可以省略。
Eg:
Hesaid(that)hewantedtostayathome.
Shedoesn’tknow(that)sheisseriouslyill.
2.由连接代词who,whom,whose,what,which和连接副词when,where,why,how引导的宾语从句。
这些连接代词和连接副词在宾语从句中充当某个成分。
Eg:
Doyouknowwho(whom)theyarewaitingfor?
Heaskedwhosehandwritingwasthebest.
CanyoutellmewheretheNo.3busstopis?
3.由if或whether引导的宾语从句。
If和whether在句中的意思是“是否”。
if、whether一般情况下可以互换,但在构成whether…ornot句式只用whether
Eg:
Iwanttoknowif(whether)helivesthere.
Heaskedmewhether(if)Icouldhelphim.
(2)宾语从句的“三关”
1.引导词关
引导词:
(1)that
(2)what,who,how,whom,where,when,why,whose
(3)whether,if
2.时态关
(1)“主现从随便”:
即主句是现在时态时,从句可以根据动作的发生情况用任何时态。
Eg:
Iknow(that)hewillstudyEnglishnextyear.(从句用一般将来时)
IknowthathehasstudiedEnglishsince1998.(从句用现在完成时)
Ihearthatshewasillyesterday.(从句用过去时)
(2)“主过从过”:
当主句动词是过去时态(could,would除外),从句则要用相应的过去时态,如一般过去时,过去进行时,过去将来时等
Eg:
TheteachertoldusthatTomhadleftusforAmerica.
(3)“主随从现”:
当从句表示的是客观真理,科学原理,自然现象,则从句仍用现在时态。
Eg:
Theteachertoldusthattheearthtravelsaroundthesun.
3.语序关
用who,whom,which,whose,what,when,where,why,how,whoever,whatever,whichever等关联词引导的宾语从句相当于特殊疑问句,应注意句子语序要用陈述语序。
Eg:
Iwanttoknowwhathehastoldyou.
Shealwaysthinksofhowshecanworkwell.
Shewillgivewhoeverneedshelpawarmsupport.
