Goodafternoon,ladiesandgentlemen.It'smypleasuretopresentmylessonheretoday.ThelessonplanIamgoingtotalkaboutisfromSEFCBook1AUnit11L42AmericanCountryMusic.I'llexplainhowtoteachandwhytodosofromthefollowing5aspects:
thetheoreticalbasis,understandingoftheteachingmaterial,teachingmethodsandstudyingways,teachingprocedure,blackboardwork..
I.Thetheoreticalbasis
First,I'dliketoshowmytheoreticalbasis------schematheory(图式理论).Lesson42isareadingcause.Accordingtoschematheory,readingcomprehensionisaninteractiveprocessbetweenthereader'sbackgroundknowledgeandthetext(CarrelandEisterhold,1983),orbetweennewinformationandtheoldknowledgestore(AndersonandPearson,1984).Soinordertoimprovethestudents'readingspeedandreadingcomprehension,languageteachersshouldtrytoactivatethestudents'oldknowledgeandaddmorerelevantbackgroundknowledgebeforetheygetthestudentstoread.
II.Understandingoftheteachingmaterial
Myunderstandingoftheteachingmaterialincludes4parts:
thestatusandthefunction,thekeypoints,thedifficultiesandteachingobjectives.I'llnottalkaboutthemseparately.
Lesson42isareadingcourse.It'smainlyaboutthehistoryandthedevelopmentofAmericancountrymusic.AccordingtothenationalcurriculumofEnglishandlanguagelearningtheory,whenteachingreading,weshouldencouragethestudentstodospeedreadingforthetime,that'stosay,weshouldencourageourstudentstoreadasfastastheycanwhentheydothefirstreading.Somuchemphasisshouldbeputonreadingskillsandheadingcomprehensionaswell.Soinordertofulfillthelearningtaskofthislesson,Imakeoutthefollowingobjectives:
a)Knowledgeobjectives
SsshouldhaveafullunderstandingofL42afterclass,andknowsomebackgroundknowledge.Thenstudentswillmastersomeusefulwordsandexpressionssuchasremain,beangrywith…,makefulluseof...andlearntoretellandsummarizeapassage.
b)Abilityobjectives
Studentsshouldbetherealmasteroftheclass.Butthestudentsinmyclassarelackofindependentreadingabilities.Inthisclass,Iwillencourageandhelpthemtoread,thinkandfindoutinformationbythemselvesmosttime.SincethemainobjectiveofreadingcourseistoimprovetheSs'readingability,I'lltraintheirabilityofidentifyingthegeneralideaandsupportingdetailsinthefastreading.Andinintensivereadingtheirabilityofinformation-gatheringandsummarizingisdeveloped.AndthewholeclassisforSstodeveloptheirreadingskillsasscanning,skimming,predictingandguessingthenewwordsfromthecontext.
