Toearthscientistsandtobiologists,Surtseywasendlesslyfascinating.Itofferedachancetostudyanewvolcanoandtoseenewlandtakeshape.EarthscientistshopedthatbystudyingwhatwashappeningtoSurtsey,theywouldgainabetterunderstandingoftheforcesbehinditsgrowth.
