havetoshare,andthatwillbemoreforeveryoneontheground.Some
peopleagainsttheglobalization.Becausethereisalwaystheweak
industrialcountriesorsomepoorcountries.
Industrialwilltodevelopmentiffullyimplementfreetrade,aglobal
economicintegration.Foreignmastertheirowneconomy.Thegovernment
can'
tcontrolhiseconomy.Countrieswillbelosteconomicsovereignty.The
superstructurebasedoneconomic.Sotheeconomyisveryimportant.Lost

challengeforChineseeconomy.
Globalizationreferstotheprocessofincreasedintegrationbetweendifferentcountriesandeconomiesandtheincreasedimpactofinternational
influencesonallaspectsoflifeandeconomicactivity.Chinaislocatedinthe
continentofAsiawiththehighestpopulationintheworldof1.3billionpeople.
Theyarethefastestgrowingeconomyduemainlytoforeigndirectinvestment
inwhichoccurbecauseofcheaplaborratesandmanufacturingcosts.Withthe
tremendousprogressinthelastdecadeChinahasreducedpoverty
dramaticallythankstoaneconomicsystemincreasinglyopentotradeand
foreigninvestment
TheimpactofglobalizationonChina’seconomicgrowthisfar-reaching.
Duringthepast20years,China’sinternationaltradeexpanded16times,with
itsrankingintheworldbouncedtoseventhfromtheoriginal32nd.Trade
dependencerateliftedfrom10to36%.TheamountofFDIisnowthelargest
amongstdevelopingcountries.Accordingtoamodularstudyonthesynergyof
FDIconductedbytheDevelopmentResearchCentreoftheStateCouncil,
China’sGDPrecordedanaverageannualgrowthrateof9.7%overthepast20
years,ofwhich2.7%wasattributedtoFDI.Apartfromusingsuchstatisticsto
showtheimpactofglobalizationontheChineseeconomy,werecognizethat
integrationwiththeworldeconomyisinstrumentaltoimprovingtheChinese
economicstructure,speedinguptheestablishmentofthemarketeconomy,
raisingthelevelofcorporategovernanceandtechnologicalcapability,aswell
asoptimizingitshumanresources.
TheimpactofglobalizationonChina’seconomicgrowthismomentous.
Globalizationpresentstoeveryoneaworldwhichisincreasinglyliberalized
andmarket-oriented.Italsobringsusintensifiedcompetitionandagreater
degreeofinterdependence.Everyonemustlearntoadapttotheincreasingly
competitiveenvironment,andcoordinateandcooperatewithothersinlinewith
thenewrules.Hence,thepracticesofdifferentgovernmentswouldinevitably
bechallenged.Whichevergovernmentcomestoproceedwithstrategiesor
policyassessmentandplanning,economicglobalizationisdefinitelyan
importantfactortobetakenintoaccount.TheChinesegovernmenthas
adoptedaseriesofstrategicallysignificantpoliciessoastoaddressthe
challengeofeconomicglobalization.Theseincludereadjustmentofthe
economicstructurebyspeedingupthedevelopmentofthehightechnologysectorandthewesternregion;
transformationofthepatternofeconomic
growthbystrengtheningITeducationandsustainabledevelopmentaswellas
furtherdevelopmentoftheoutward-orientedeconomybyimplementing“come
in”and“goout”strategies.Besides,thegovernmentisconsolidatingreformin
SOEsandgovernmentadministrationwithaviewtoestablishagoverning
mechanismincompliancewithinternationalrulesandpractices.These
policiesobviouslyfacilitatesChina’sfurtherintegrationintotheglobaleconomy.
ThesuccessoftheopendoorpolicyhasboostedChinesepeople’s
self-confidence,andhasalsoestablishedaliberalthinkinginthecountry.
Chinesepeopleacknowledgethattoday’ssuccessisaresultofliberalization,
whichhaslongbeenourprimarytarget.Thoughlikeothernations,Chinamay
haveadifferentinterpretationofglobalizationandsomespecificideastocope
withthechallengesarisenfromit,afewChinesepeoplewouldadvocategoing
backto“isolationism”andhardlyanywouldcallforshuttingthedoorofthe
country.
Onthe17thofSeptember2001Chinawasadmittedmembershipintothe
WorldTradeOrganizationafter15yearsoflobbyingfortheposition.They
werethenableandwereparticipantsoftheDoharoundonthe10thof
November2001.“Internationaleconomiccooperationhasbroughtaboutthis
definingmomentinthehistoryofmultilateraltradingsystem,”saidMikeMoore,
WTODirector-General,attheconclusionofthemeetingoftheWorkingParty
onChina’sAccession.
Asaresultofthisnegotiation,Chinahasagreedtoundertakeaseriesof
importantcommitmentstoopenandliberalizeitsregimeinordertobetter
integrateintheworldeconomyandofferamorepredictableenvironmentfor
tradeandforeigninvestmentinaccordancewithWTOrules.Thismorestable
environmentwithhopefullythenleadtoadecreasethelevelofcorruptionin
thepoliticalsystemwhichwillliftitsindexandrankingassothenwillbecome
moreattractiveforforeigninvestors,toChina’sbenefitandtothetraders.
Thus,globalizationhasthefairandroughshareofitsimpactsandthuswecansurelyhopeformoreadvancementintheglobaleconomyduetothis
process.
