解析《最蓝的眼睛》中佩科拉的悲剧人生
摘要:
佩科拉是生活在美国大萧条时期的一个黑人女孩。
作为黑人女孩儿的她,遭受了种族歧视,缺乏父母的关爱,还深受老师和同学的奚落以及周围人的冷漠,对比那些深受大家喜爱的拥有着蓝色眼睛的白人们,佩科拉对自己的不幸深感痛苦,并把自己悲剧的根源归结到没有蓝色的眼睛,做梦都想拥有一双蓝色的眼睛。
然而笔者认为,事实并非如此。
论文首先分析女主人公的悲剧形象:
蓝色眼睛的追求者、种族歧视的受害者、被家人抛弃的对象、父亲暴力的受害者、自我价值和审美观扭曲者。
其次分析女主人公的悲剧原因:
外在原因和内在原因。
外在原因:
恶劣的社会背景和压抑的家庭环境;内在原因:
缺少女性主义意识和自我认同的缺失。
最后分析女主角悲剧的结尾:
在寻求蓝色眼睛中迷失了自己,并产生幻觉,最终梦想破灭。
通过本文的写作,笔者对小说中仅11岁的黑女主人公佩科拉悲剧人生的解析,向世人展示了一个真理:
美国黑人只有尊重和继承自己的民族文化价值和审美观,才能在白人文化站统治地位的美国社会中健康成长。

Abstract
Pecola,ablackgirlin1940theGreatDepression,livesinAmerica.Sufferingtheracism,lossofparents’love,tauntteaseofherteacherandclassmatesanddesertionofpeoplearoundandseeingthewhitehavingdifferenttreatment,Pecolafeelssosadthatshebelievesthatnoblueeyesresultsinhertragiclifeanddreamsoftheblueeyes.However,thewriterdoesn’tthinkso.
First,thispapershowstheimagesofPecola:
pursuerofblueeyes,victimofracism,loserofvaluesandaestheticstandard.Thenthethesisanalyzesthefactorsoftheheroine’stragedy:
badsocialbackgroundwhichinvolvesthecultureandpoliticaleconomy;suffocativefamilyatomosphereincludesrejectionfromhermotherandrapefromherfather;hersuperfacialinnerworldwithoutfeminismandself-identity.Finally,thewriterinterpretsthethebuskinofPecola:
shelosesherselfandherdreamandhashallucinations.
Inthisthesis,thewriteranalyzesPecola’stragiclifeandrevealatruth:
onlywhentheblackrespectandinherittheirnationalculturalvalueandaestheticview,cantheygrowhealthilyintheAmericansocietyledbythedominantwhitetownship.

Introduction
TheBluestEyeisthedebutoftheAmericanfemalewriterTonyMorrison.In1993,shewasawardedbytheSwedishAcademyfortheNobelPrizainLiteraturebecuaseofhercreationwhichispoeticandimaginative.Meanwhile,MorrisonisthefirstblackAmericanwriterwhowinstheprize.Herworksaretoshowandexploreblackhistory,destinyandspiritualworldwhichshowastrongsenseofthetimes.Inherworks,shepaysmuchattentiontotheblack,womenandtheAmerian.Atthesametime,shealsoconcernsaboutthelifesituationoftheblackandtheirfateinthedualculturalconflict,andexplorestheirinnerexperience,especiallyblackwomen’sspiritualworld.
Today,TheBluestEyeisafemaleliteraryclassicintheworld.IttellsastoryoftragiclifeofablackgirlcalledPecola.Shesufferssomuchthatshepraysapairoflargeandbeatifulblueeyes,whichcanmakeherbecomebeautifullikeotherchildrenwhohaveblondehairandblueeyes.Inherview,allshesuffersresultfromheruglyappearence.Therefore,sheisalwayseagertogetthem,too.Whereas,sheisrapedbyherfatherandgivebirthtoadeadbaby.Inherage,ithurtshertoomuch.Thus,afterthat,shebecomesmentaldisorderandhasillusion.Finally,herdreamisbedashed.
ThispaperaimstoshowthetragiclifeofPecola.Sheisatragicimageofpursuerofblueeyes,victimofracism,rejecteeoffamily,victimofpatriarchy,loserofvaluesandaestheticstandardandtoexploretheoriginsofherfatefromtheAmericansociety,communityandherself.Itwillalsorevealinfluenceoftheheroineandthenovel.Morrisonjustremindstheblackthatonlywhentheyrespectandinherittheirownnationalculturevalueandaestheticview,cantheylivehappilyandhealthilyunderthewhitetownshipdominanceofAmericansociety.

A.VictimofRacism
Theterm“racism”epualsto“racialdiscrimination”whichisdiscriminatoryorabusivebehaviortowardsmembersofanotherrace.3Theblacksufferingdiscriminationisanormalthinginthattimes.Theblackdonothaveequalrightsinpolitics,andmeetunfairtreatinlife.Theyaretreatednobetterthananimals.What’smore,theyareeventreatedasslaves,boughtandsoldfromabuyertoanotherseller,andfromhometoaplacefaraway.Actually,Pecolalivesinsuchasocialbackgroundbutwithoutbeingsoldasaslave.Howeverherlifeisveryhard.Asablackgirl,sheisavictimofracisminhercommunity.Pecolaisalittleblackgirlwantstoescapefromtheholeofblackskinandseetheworldaroundthemwithblueeyes.
Atstore,afifty-two-year-oldwhiteimmigrantstorekeeper,with“thetotalabsenceofhumanrecognition---theglazedseparateness”ignoresPecola’sexistingwhenshecomesin.4Andhetreatherimpatiently.
