Theagricultureindustryplaysanimportantroleincreatingjobsandkeepingtheeconomystrong.Canadaistheworld’sfifthlargestexporterofagricultureandfoodproducts,withexportshittinganall-timehighofmorethan$40billion.
“OpenFarmDayisagreatchanceforIslandersandvisitorstolearnmoreabouttheprovince’snumberoneindustryandtheimportantroleitplaysinoursociety,”saidPrinceEdward
Island’sMinisterofAgricultureandForestry,GeorgeWebster.“Peoplewillhaveachancetoseewhatlifeislikeonamodernfarmoperation,whichhelpstobuildawarenessandanunderstandingofIslanderswhomaketheirlivingbyproducinghigh-qualityfood.”
