DrKukulasaysthatiftherearesmallerplanetsinthesamesolarsystemwithasimilarcomposition,richincarbon,theirrockscouldberichinmineralssuchascarbonanddiamonds,unlikeEarthwhichhassilica(硅石),thesandthatrocksonEartharemadefrom.“Thisiswherethisdiamondplanetideacomesfrom;theyhaven’tactuallydetectedadiamondplanetyet,”explainsDrKukula.It’shypothetical(假设的),“butyoucanimaginestrangelandscapeswithblackgraphiterockslyingaroundandthesurfacecouldbecoveredwithstickyliquidsinsteadofwater”.
