Overview:
Thisseriesofmethodologycourseservestointroduceentry-leveldoctoralstudentstothe“science”ofacademicresearch.Itentailsissuesinresearchphilosophy,researchdesign,hypothesiscreatingandtesting,scaledevelopment,derivinginferencesandmakinggeneralizations,threatstovalidity,differentiatingcross-culturalandindigenousstudies,evaluatingresearchwork,etc.
Thecourseswillbecarriedoutasaseminar.Youshouldreadallofthebookchaptersand/orpapersassignedtoaparticularweekpriortotheclass.Pleasebereadytoshareyourinsights,askquestionsanddiscussissuesfromtheassignedreadings.Thequalityofyourclassparticipation(i.e.,classdiscussions,mid-termexams,andtermpaper)willreflectgreatlybothyourcommitmentandcriticalthinkingability.Anindividual’shighqualityparticipationwillcontributegreatlytotheclass’overalllearningprocess.
