Enginethermalmanagementisfromtheangleofthewholesystem,integratedcontrolengine,turbochargerandexhaust,coolingsystemandenginecabinheattransferetc.,improvecirculationefficiency,reducingheatload,changecontrolenginecomponentsofhighandlowtemperaturelimit,temperaturedistributionandregularity,improvesthecoolingcapacityoftheengine'scolleagues,keeptheengineingoodpowernature,economyandemissionperformanceandreliability.
Applicationofenginethermalmanagementsystemtechnology,caneffectivelyheattransfersysteminvolvedintheengineasacomprehensivesystemofconsiderationandgettheaccurateboundaryparametersoftheengineeachfluidsystem,precisecontroloftemperatureandheatfluxofeachsystem,canguaranteethesafeandefficientoperationofthekeycomponentsandsystemcontrol.Andtheoptimizationoftheheattransferprocess,reducethesizeandpowerconsumptionofcoolingsystem,reasonableutilizationofheatenergy,reducewasteemissions,improveenergyefficiency,reduceenvironmentalpollution.Thereissignificantdifferencebetweenenginethermalmanagementandtraditionalenginecoolingsystem.Fromenginecoolingtoenginethermalmanagementisnotonlyatechnologicalprogress,butalsoabreakthroughinmanagementanddesignideas.Enginethermalmanagementtechnologyhasbecomeanimportantmeasureofengineenergysaving,emissionreduction,powerperformance,reliabilityandenginelife.
Thecoolingfanmechanicaldrivecoolingsysteminthetraditionalfanfromtheenginecrankshaftthroughabeltdrive,thecoolingairdependsonenginespeedandenginespeedisproportionalto,ratherthantheactualengineoperationcoolingcapacity,unabletoaccuratelycontroltheairflowthroughtheradiator,therebyitisdifficulttomaketheengineworkinthebesttemperature,resultinginemissionsistoohigh,thefueleconomyandengineperformancedeterioration.Inadditiontotheoutsideofthetraditionalcoolingfancoolingsensitivityadjustmentisnothigh,thepowerlossisalsolarge,seriouspowerconsumption,suchaspowerconsumptionofthefancanreachthetotaloutputpoweroftheengine10%.Inordertosolvetheproblemsappearedintheselfcontrolledelectricfan,theelectricfanspeedaccordingtothecoolanttemperatureandairconditioningcycleparameterstoadjust,throughthesensorandcomputerchipaccordingtotheenginetemperaturecontroloperation,toprovidethebestcoolingmediumflowandfanspeedtoadjustcoolingcapacity,reduceheatloss,theengineatlowtemperaturewhenthepowerloss,andexcessivewear,inhibittheengineoverheating,reducingnoiseandfuelconsumption.Thecoolingfanoftransformingthetraditionalcontrolmodeforintelligentcontrol,thecoolingcapacityofcoolingfanwithenginecoolingandautomaticpreciseadjustment,improvedenginepreheatingvelocity,watertemperaturetoohotortoocoldtoprevent,tomaintainthebestworkingtemperature,butalsoavoidwastingalotofenergy,whichreducethefan90%powerconsumption,savefuel10%.Inaddition,inordertoimprovetheefficiencyofcoolingfan,replacethearcstraightbladecoolingfanwithaplasticfanwing;withwingsectionplasticandstreamlinedhood,theformationofstreamlineflowinthefanairflowentrance,canimprovetheefficiencyofhydraulicfan.Finally,theefficiencyofelectricfanis85%.
ThetraditionalmechanicaldrivencoolingwaterpumpisdrivenbyVorgear,andtherunningspeedisproportionaltotheenginespeed.Manystudiesshowthatthetraditionalwaterpumpinwateronly5%ofthetimeisright,nottheprecisecontroloftheflowthroughtheradiatorcoolingmedium,soitishardtomaketheengineworkattheoptimumtemperature,fueleconomyandengineperformance.Theelectroniccontrolpumpdrivenbythemotor,theflowcanbeindependentlycontrolled.Theelectricpumpwithoutcrankshaftdrive,theinstallationlocationisflexible,canoptimizethewaterpumpcharacteristicdesign,atthesametimebecausethereisnogearorbeltwheeldrives,reducescyclelateralVbeltandgearofthepumpbearingloadcapacity,reducethelossofdriving.Accordingtotherequirementsofenginecooling,notonlythespeedofcoolingwaterissuppliedbytheelectroniccontrolpump,butalsothecoolingstateofthepartloadandthehighspeedconditionisavoided,andtheunnecessarypowerconsumptionisreduced.GuoXinminonthedomesticloadercoolingsystemcontroldeviceisstudied,inordertoachieveautomaticadjustmentofcoolingwaterpumpspeedregulatingoverflowflowproportionalreliefvalveaccordingtothetemperatureofcoolingwaterbyusingscm.Theresultsshowthat,whenthetemperatureislow,thecontrolcanreducethepreheatingtimeby50%,increasetheheatingspeed,andsavethefuelinthepreheatingstageby43%.In1999Valeoproposedanewelectronictuningsystemintheenginetoimproveenginecoolingperformance.Itrealizestheseparationofthepumpandcylinder,flowandventilationdeviceofthepumptoadjustandcontroltheengineECU,convenientpumpinstallation,andawayfromthecylinderheatsource,thepumpcanbemadeofplastic,whichcanreducethecostandreducetheweightofthepump,thepumpspeedchangeswithtemperaturetoachievethechange,furtherreducingtheheatlossandmechanicalloss,reducepollutionandfuelconsumption.Stepanoffhasputforwardthedesigntheoryofhighefficiencycentrifugalpumpandaxialflowpump,whichcanimprovetheefficiencyofenginecoolingwaterpumpto75%bychangingtheshapeofimpellerandimprovingthesurfacefinish.JapanNISSAN,thistheorydevelopedawaterpumpbasedonthestructurebyreducingthesizeofpump,thecompanyalsoimprovedbyincreasingthenumberofblades,bladecurvedesign,themaximumpumpefficiencyreached75%.
Thethermostatthermostatfunctionisautomaticallyadjustedaccordingtothecoolingwaterintotheradiatortemperatureofthewater,changethewatercyclerange,toadjustcoolingcapacityofthecoolingsystem,ensurethattheengineworkinthesuitabletemperaturerange.Thethermostatisakeycomponenttocontrolthecoolingflowpathoftheenginecoolingsystem,butatpresentmostofthethermostatusingparaffinastemperaturesensingmedium,theexistenceof"delay"and"hysteresis",unabletomeettheprecisecontrolofthecoolingsystem,theenginefuelconsumption,servicelifeshorten.Inordertofurtherimprovethecoolingefficiencyoftheengine,electronicthermostatcameintobeing.Thecontrolsystemofthetemperaturecontrolleriscomposedofasensor,amotorandacontrolmodule,whichcancontrolthecoolantflowrateaccordingtothecoolanttemperatureorthetemperatureoftheengineparts.Whentheengineisrunning,thecontrolunitaccordingtothecalculatedvaluesobtainedbythesensorsignalconditioningunitloadvoltagetothetemperature,thedissolutionratebycontrollingtheloadvoltagetocontrolthesizeofparaffin,theneffectivelyquicklyandaccuratelycontrolthesizeofthecircularopening,sothatallpartsoftheengineisalwaysintheoptimaltemperaturerange,inordertoimprovethecombustionefficiencyoffueloilincreasetheairintakequantity,reducewearandprolongtheservicelifeoftheengine.In1997,theUnitedStatesUniversityofOaklandX-ZHOUandB.CAHLONetalintroducedhystereticdelaydifferentialequationstodescribethedynamiccharacteristicsofthethermostatintheenginecoolingsystemintheworkprocess,andgivesthenumericalsolutionofthemodelalgorithm.2002~2006,theUnitedStatesClemsonUniversityJohnR.Wagneretal.Carriedouttheenginecoolingsystemintelligentthermostat.Theyusetheservomotortodrivethegearandscrew,andthenscrewtherotationofthemovementintothepiston(spool)ofthetelescopicmovement,soastoachievethesizeofthecoolingfluidcirculationchannelswitch.In2009,T.Mitchelletal.Comparedtheeffectsof4differenttypesofthermostatarrangementontheperformanceoftheenginecoolingsystemundertheconditionofwarmair.Theyareintheuseofparaffinthermostat,electrictwowayvalve,electricthree-wayvalveanddonotinstallthermostat,respectively,inthe4casesofenginewarm-uptest.Theirstudysuggeststhattheuseofelectricthree-wayvalveinthisform,theenginewarm-uptimeandfueleconomyperformanceofthebest.In2004,TsinghuaUniversity,LuoJianxi,ZhangYangjunetal.Analyzestheinfluenceofthermostatondynamicperformanceoftheenginetheypointedout:
theeffectofinteractionofdelayednonlineardynamiccharacteristicsandthesystemofthethermostat,causingtheenginedynamiccharacteristicsofcomplexthermalsystem.Whenthetemperatureofthethermostatisshort,thetemperaturedeviationissmall,andthetemperatureofthethermostatisweak,theinlettemperatureoftheengineissmall,thetimeneededforstabilityisshort,andtheadjustmenteffectisgood.
Thecoolingwatercoolingfluidflow,pressureandreasonableflowfielddistributionhaveadirectimpactonthecoolingeffectoftheengine.Theenginepassesthewaterjackettothecoolingsystem,andthereasonabledesignofthewaterjacketisthekeyfactortothecoolingeffectoftheengine.Thewaterjacketstructurereasonablefirsttoensuretheuniformityofwaterjacketwallthickness,wallduetoheatinsomeareascausedbytheunreasonabledistributionofthewaterjacketwallthicknessoftheenginestressoccurredthesituation;secondly,toensuretherationalityofthewaterjacketcavity,thecoolingliquidcanbenormalflowinthewaterjacket,noflowdead,caus
