“Thehormoneleptin(瘦素)decreasesappetite(胃口),whilethehormoneghrelin(饿素)increasesappetite,”explainedUSresearcherVsevolodPolotsky.“Sleepshortagecausesleptintodropandghrelintorise,soyou’rehungryandeatmore.”
Andeveniftheytriedtosleepforaslongastheywantedtoduringweekends,accordingtoresearchers,itwasstillnotenoughbecausetheyfounditdifficulttofallasleep.
