Whenaformintroducescomputers,afewpeopleareusuallyemployedinkeyposts(suchasjobsofoperationsmanagers)whileotherstaffarew-trainedasoperators,programmers,anddatapreparationstaff.Afterthenewsystemhassettleddown,peopleinnon-computerjobsarenotalwaysreplacedwhentheyleave,resultinginadecreaseinthenumberofemployees.Thisdecreaseissometimesbalancedbyasubstantialincreaseintheactivityofthefrim,resultingfromtheintroductionofcomputers.
Theattitudesofworkerstowardscomputersvary.Thereisfearofwidespreadunemploymentandofthetakeoverofmanyjobsbycomputer-trainedworkers,makingpromotionforolderworkersnotskilledincomputersmoredifficult.
