Opening: (5 minutes) Write on the chalkboard: “American Thanksgiving” Pose a question to the class: “In the last lesson, we learned the American harvest holidayThanksgiving. Tell the class: Today, we are going to learn another cultures harvest holiday. It is Chinese Moon Festival. (Show the class the poster board.) But instead of reading an ar
6、ticle, we will learn Chinese Moon Festival through creating and acting out a role-play. After this lesson, you will write a short article of introducing Chinese Moon Festival. B. Middle:1. Input: (5 minutes) Divide the class into small groups (the number of each group depends on the demands of the r
7、ole-play activity). Let each group create and act out a role-play based on a topic. Provide posters and guidelines for each group to create and conduct the role-play. Hand out each person Worksheet 1: “Role-Play Evaluation Form” and explain to students as audience they will evaluate each role-play t

10、 presentation: Each group presents a 3-min role-play in class. Before the role-play, the group will give a brief introduction of the story. Role-play evaluation: The audience will fill in the “Role-Play Evaluation Form” as they view the peers role-play. C. Closure: (10 minutes) Have each group gener
11、ate the true meaning of the Chinese Moon Festival based on their group role-play. Lead a class brainstorming of summarizing the true meaning of Chinese Moon Festival. Encourage volunteers to write the summary on the board. Evaluation Student knowledge and understanding of the Chinese Moon Festival w
12、ill be evaluated through a role-play and a writing assignment. Student oral English and cooperative skills will be evaluated through observation of the role-play. A 1000 word paper that compares the two harvest holidays in terms of: the origin, the true
