With a population of 643,238, the majority of the group lives in the Ningxia Hui Auto
6、nomous Region. However, there are Hui living in almost all the provinces and cities of China.Chinese is the native language of the Hui people for both the spoken and written language. In addition, they retain some of the Arabic and Persian words.Islamism has played a vital role in the development of

It can be worn both in summer and winter and can serve as underwear and coat. Besides, Elderly Hui people often w
24、ear a kind of leather socks in winter,which is called Maisai socks, Maisaihai means leather socks and is made of thin and soft ox hide, similar to leather jacket, clean and bright, firm and endurable. One wears the leather sock and eliminates the steps of feet-washing. Touching the socks toe to heel
25、 with wet hands equals to feet washing. Therefore, Hui people generally like wearing Maisai socks.In some places, Hui men like to wear a sword around their waists, commonly called broadsword.
