My Job in an Apple PlantBy John LanganFrom English Skills with ReadingsIntroductory paragraph (Thesis)
16、In the course of working my way through school, I have taken many jobs I would rather forget. I have spent nine hours a day lifting heavy automobile and truck batteries off the end of an assembly belt. I have risked the loss of eyes and fingers working a punch press in a textile factory. I have serv

But none of these jobs was as dreadful as my job in an apple plant. The work was physically hard; the pay was poor; and, most of all, the working conditions were dismal

For ten hours a night, I took cartons that rolled down a metal track and stacked them onto wooden skids in a tractor-trailer. Each carton contained twelve heavy cans or bottles of apple juice. During work I was limited to two ten-minute breaks and an unpaid half hour for lunch. Most of my time was spent outside on the truck loading dock in near-z

I had no shared interests with the man I loaded cartons with, and so I had to work without job companionship. Concluding paragraphI stayed on the job for five months, hat

The 3 Keys to SuccessPeople around the world have many different goals that they want to accomplish during their lifetime
26、, but all these goals relate to one thing: to have a happy and successful life. Of course, this goal is not easy to achieve, but if you develop the following qualities, you will have an easier time: having a positive attitude, always being respectful and being active in the society. With these three
27、 character traits, you are most likely to accomplish what you want to.Having a positive attitude is probably the most important of the three traits. The essence of having positive attitude is optimism. One of the most important things in life is to stay happy. This may seem somewhat difficult, but y

Suppose someone is diagnosed with a mortal disease like cancer. Normally this certain person would panic and he would be depressed for the re

Determination is another part of having a positive attitude. It may have a connection to being optimistic, but t
30、hey are actually entirely different character traits. Being determined would mean that once you set your sights on accomplishing a goal, there is nothing anybody or anything can do to stop you. The last part of having a positive attitude is to encourage others. If your friend has an opinion about so

Also, if your friend wants to accomplish a goal, encourage them and tell them that you believe in them. Given these few reasons, you can see that having a positive attitude is an important quality to have. Respect is another one of the key traits that can help you lead a successful life. There is an unlimited amount of ways of being a respectful person. Being respectful can me
