It has aroused great concern among people. As is known to all, however, different stakeholders have different views, and there is n
2、o consensus among them. Some people think that governments should spend as much money as possible on developing or buying computer technology. Other people disagree and think that this money should be spent on more basic needs. Although both of them are reasonable, I am inclined to agree with the fo
3、rmer. The main reasons to support my opinion are listed as follows.First of all, in modern society, the competition that we are confronted with is more than fierce. Besides, in the information age, the technology develops and updates so rapidly. Only by increasing investments in technology, and deve
4、loping technology, can a country or a company keep up with the tide, and win advantages as well as triumphs. If they just focus on basic needs, and not willing to improve their technology, they cannot survive. At last, they are doomed to be deserted by the society. This is the same as the so called
5、survive to the fittest by Darwin.Whats more, technology is more important than basic needs to some extent. As a famous Chinese saying goes, Teaching associates to fish rather than simply giving them fish. If you just give them fish, they will eat up the fish sooner or later. However, you can not giv
6、e them fish all the time. Once there is nobody to give them fish, they will not have fish and not know how to get fish by themselves. But if you teach them the technology of fishing, they will have abundant fish. Its obvious that technology plays a vital role in our daily life nowadays. That is also
7、 the reason why China turned its strategy from made in China to created in China. Many a commodity is made in China, but not created in China. Besides, lacking technology, Chinese manufacture develops very slowly, and its efficiency as well as profit are low. As a consequence, our governments decide
8、d to implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education. It is out of question that our governments policy is sensible. Governments must pay more attention to technology.Last but not least, once there is an improvement in technology, better use of infrastructure will be
9、 made. Besides, more perfect facilities will be constructed. As a result, the standard and the quality of our basic needs will be improved. At the same time, the society will be more advanced. There is no doubt that our daily life will become more and more colorful and meaningful. For humans in prim
10、itive times, as we all know, their basic needs were food, clothes and so on. What people wanted at that time was getting rid of hunger and cold. With the improvement of technology and the development of society, what people pursue are not only material needs but also mental enjoyments.However, what
11、I maintain does not mean that I think basic needs are of no value. Of course, basic needs are indispensable parts of our daily life. What I claim is just a comparative conclusion. In addition, governments should spend more money on technology does not mean ignoring basic needs. On the contrary, this

In other words, apparently the essential existent demands for people such as food, water, shelter and clothing remain the main concerns facing those poor areas. More specifically, about 20 percent of the worlds population is currently
20、 fighting against poverty and whats worse, there are roughly 805 million people suffer from hunger according to United Nations statistics. In that case, if local authorities consume all the revenue to technological progress, then the people there will be harder to survive and become insecure.Moreove
21、r, satisfaction of the elementary demands contributes to enhance social awareness and enthusiasm for technology research and development. Likewise, how can we expect someone to be a great inventor when he or she is struggling for the most basic services and cannot receive primary education or health

An illustrating example is the Information Revolution in the 20th century, which originally took place in the United States, the worlds most developed country with a high living standard, namely only a prosperous society, as the inevitable result of the science atmosphere, is more likely to cr
23、eate advanced inventions. In addition, Maslows hierarchy of needs also matches my point of view. That is, only when physiological needs including prerequisites for survival are satisfied, will humans accomplish superior levels like self-actualization, where they can exert potential to the fullest.
