Its difficult for us to finish the work.(2) n. + be + 形容词+ to do sth. Comics are wonderful to read. The film is exciting to see.5. 形容词修饰不定代词应位于其后: I have something

Is there anything interesting in todays newspaper?6. 以-ed 和-ing 结尾的形容词的比较:以-ed结尾的形容词强调人的感受:excited,interested,surprised,frightened 以-ing 结尾的形容词强调某事物本身的特征:exciting,interesting,surprising This is an interesting book and I am interested in it. Why1Why的一般用法 1)表示“为什么”,用来向对方问及原因。回答用becauseE.g. -Why were you late? 你为什么迟到? -Because there was a traffic jam.因为刚刚塞车了。2)(反问,表示不必)为何,这里虽然也是问句,却是一种反问,不需要回答。E.g. Why bother

    21、 to write? 为什么还费事写信? 2. Why 的特殊用法 why还有一些其它的用法,这时候它已经不是一个疑问词了,其用法如下: why(说明理由)的原因,一般用于表语从句、定语从句等从句中。 1)Thats why . 这就是的原因E.g. Thats why I left so early。 这就是我早早离去的原因。 2)The reason why . 原因是 E.g. the reason why I left was I felt not very well. 我离去的原因就是我感觉不是很舒服。 II. Because 1Because的用法 because的中文意思是“因为

    22、”,它是用来对应回答why提出的问题的。 E.g. -Why were you late? -I was late, because there was a traffic jam. =I was late, because of a traffic jam. 2Because and because of的用法 Because 和 because of都是用来回答为什么的,意思也一样,但要注意的一点是: because后面一定要接一个句子。Because of 后面要接名词或名词短语。 I was late, because I got up late in the morning. 我迟到

    23、是因为我早上起晚了。 I was late, because of my mother. 我迟到是因为我的妈妈。Chapter 4 目的状语从句、结果状语从句、让步状语从句I 目的状语从句常用引导词:so that, in order that 特殊引导词:lest, in case, for fear that,in the hope that, for the purpose that, to the end that The boss asked the secretary to hurry up with the letters so that he could sign them.

    24、The teacher raised his voice on purpose that the students in the back could hear more clearly. 【要点】: 目的状语从句由连词that, so that, sothat , in order that 引导。 1.so that 以至, 以便 Ill run slowly so that you can catch up with me. (目的) 我将慢慢跑以至你能赶上我。 I opened the window so that fresh air might come in. (目的) 我把窗户打

    25、开以使新鲜空气可以进来。 2.in order that=so that:为了 We shall let you know the details soon in order that you can/may make your arrangements. 不久我们将会让你知道详情,以便你们能够做出安排。(目的)II结果状语从句常用引导词:so that, such that, 特殊引导词:such that, to the degree that, to the extent that, to such a degree that, He got up so early that he ca

    26、ught the first bus. Its such a good chance that we must not miss it. To such a degree was he excited that he couldnt sleep last night.【要点】:结果状语从句由连词( so )that, sothat, suchthat, so much/manythat引导。 1.sothat 如此以至于 The scientists report was so instructive that we were all very excited. 科学家的报告很有启发性,我们感

    27、到很兴奋。 He always studied so hard that he made great progress. 他总是那么努力,结果他取得了很大的进步。 2. suchthat 如此。以至 Its such nice weather that all of us want to go to the park. 天气是如此的好,我们大家都想去公园玩。 3.比较:so和 such 其规律由so与such的不同词性决定。such 是形容词,修饰名词或名词词组,so 是副词,只能修饰形容词或副词。 so 还可与表示数量的形容词many, few, much, little(这四个形容词表多或

    28、表少时)连用,形成固定搭配。 so foolish such a fool so nice a flower such a nice flower so many / few flowers such nice flowers so much / little money. such rapid progress so many people such a lot of people ( so many 已成固定搭配,a lot of 虽相当于 many,但 a lot of 为名词性的,只能用such搭配。) sothat与suchthat之间的转换既为 so与such之间的转换。 The

He is such a young boy that he cant go to school.【难点】so +形容词或副词 +形+a(an)+单数可数名词 +many 或few+复数可数名词 +that +much或 little+不可数名词 so that ,suchthat 都可以in order that两者皆可引导目的状语从句和结果状语从句,当他们引导目的状语从句时,从句的谓语里常常有can, could, may, might, will, would等次。 1.Ive had so many falls that Im black and blue all over. 我跌了很多跤,浑身数摔得清一块紫一块. 2.there are so few notebooks that I cant give you any. 笔记本太
